An End is a Beginning – Ignite Slides

In a week I’ll be presenting my Ignite SLC talk SuperEmpowerment, Networked Tribes, and an End to Business as We Know It. I’ve mentioned the Salt Lake Ignite event before, Vox Pop Design having been a sponsor. However, this time I’ll actually be sharing 20 slides of my own in this five minute ideological sprint (deck gallery below).

Mouthful that the title is I hope to capture much of what I have been fascinated about pre-and-post Great Recession. During this time many have expressed feeling as if they were at the whims of forces/corporations/governments beyond their control; that they were intrinsically linked not to an economic system, but the system. It’s not likely one of their choosing and the costs for participating (bailouts, wars to preserve foreign but strategic assets, cyclical systemic disruption through bubble boom/busts) are steep.

Five minutes is not a lot of time. It will be challenging explaining a diverse business ecosystem made up of parallel economic tribes with semi-permeable membranes based on shared belief. I’m not even going to attempt to go into the first steps of how to get one going. But one has to start somewhere. A dedicated five minutes, in the name of stability and the pursuit of happiness, is as good of place as any.

Feedback certainly welcome. What has been intellectually blowing your mind lately?
