About

Matthew Reinbold (that’s me!) is the Creative Principal for Vox Pop Design and writer of BloomBurst. As Creative Principal at Vox Pop Design I form distributed teams to solve challenging software problems. Specialties include information visualization, ColdFusion development, and mobile solutions. I also am a board member for The Electroregeneration Society, a 503c non-profit dedicated to bridging the digital divide in our communities.

From April, 2005 to August 2009 I was president of the Salt Lake City ColdFusion User’s Group, an official Adobe organization. In August of 2006 I founded CodeAway.org, a group dedicated toward fostering social and networking events for bloggers, freelancers, and professional developers. I received a Bachelors of Science in Computer Engineering, with high honors, from the best engineering school in the northern plains, SDSM&T (not just my opinion). I also have an MBA from the University of Utah with a specialization in emerging technology business. Sometime in there I became a certified ColdFusion Developer and have been developing with CFML since 2002.

What’s in a name?

Reinbold [definition]: from a Germanic personal name composed of the elements ragin (“counsel”) + bald (“bold” or “brave”)
Matthew [definition]: a sexy guy that liked the women and has a nice tooth brush

Past writing on business and Internet topics has appeared on Web Worker Daily and Utah Pulse. Speaking engagements have included numerous presentations to regional technology user groups, two Utah Open Source Conference appearances (2007, 2008), and Ignite SLC 4. I’ve also discussed topics ranging from social media to ColdFusion development as a panelist at various local events.

Design influences include Aidan Hughes, Shepard Fairey, and the Bauhaus movement. Development influences include Ben Nadel and Hal Helms.
